An Introduction to Laurie
Laurie Benson is an award-winning historical romance author and 2015 Golden Heart® finalist. She began her writing career as an advertising copywriter, where she learned more than you could ever want to know about hot dogs and credit score reports. Her interest in history began when she was in elementary school, and that interest was fueled by many visits to many museums.
When she isn’t at her laptop avoiding laundry, Laurie can be found browsing antique shops, going on ridiculously long hikes, or sitting in her car on the school pickup line. She lives with her husband and two sons in a house filled with testosterone—even her bunny is a boy.
The Secret Lives of The Ton Series
What Society doesn’t know…
Book 1 ~ An Unsuitable Duchess
The scandal of the season!
For American Katrina Vandenberg, the rules of London society are stifling. So, when a rare moment of solitude at a particularly tedious ball is interrupted, she’s disappointed…until she lays eyes on a very handsome stranger!
Julian Carlisle, Duke of Lyonsdale, is destined for a dull marriage of convenience, and Katrina couldn’t be further from the docile, blue-blooded bride he needs. An affair would be scandalous, but could there be a way for this highly unsuitable woman to become Julian’s perfect duchess after all?
The Sisters Thoughts
Completely and utterly adored this wonderful book, so much I couldn’t put it down until I finished it, I was completely captivated and moved by all aspects of the journey of our Hero and heroine and also driven nuts in the best possible way into shouting at the book due to certain peoples stubbornness.
Highly recommended, a must read and a 5/5 from me.
Katrina is a diplomat’s daughter from America and Julian is The Duke of Lyonsdale. When they first meet it is instant attraction and before long they are having clandestine meetings to spend time together as Katrina is not Duchess material or is she?
The more time they spend together the more their feelings grow for one another. After a scandal tears them apart can they really survive without each other? And can tradition be ignored so that Julian can follow his hearts desire this time around?
A brilliant start to this series and I cannot wait to read the stories of The Duke of Winterbourne and The Earl of Hartwick next! Very highly recommended historical romance!!
Book 2 ~ An Uncommon Duke
Confessions of a Regency duke…
When the Duke of Winterbourne proposed to Olivia, she felt like the luckiest girl alive. Their happy marriage was the envy of the ton. But all that changed when Gabriel wasn’t there the night Olivia needed him the most. Now, five years later she wants another child. But can she trust herself to give Gabriel her body without losing her heart?
Gabriel’s life is dedicated to protecting the crown, and he’s learned the hard way not to trust anyone with his secrets. Now his estranged wife wants to try for another child just as an assassination attempt is made on the Prince Regent. His mind should be on uncovering the would-be killer, except having Olivia in his bed and in his life again is proving to be a big distraction
The Sisters Thoughts
This is just about the perfect Historical Romance novel that you can get, it has everything that you want from a good book. suspense, intrigue, fabulous love story, character’s that you adore from page one, brilliant plot and I absolutely loved it.
Secret’s of the Ton is a suburb series and this is one of those rare gem’s that you can read and re-read over and over again with tiring of and I absolutely insist that everyone read’s this.
Absolutely stunning, a joy from page one and a series that can only get better and better.
I loved this story so very much and will not be giving any spoilers, truly utterly beautiful story and fantastically done,I lave been captivated by this story as much as its predecessor in the series loved laughed and cried very very touching at times to.
Completely recommend and adore this book thank you Laurie for writing it xxxx
Book 3 ~ An Unexpected Countess
“Dash it, Miss Forrester, what are you doing up here?”
The Earl of Hartwick delights in scandalizing the ton with his behavior. But it’s his turn to be scandalized when, on an escapade, he bumps into Miss Sarah Forrester—in the rain, at night, on a rooftop!
Sarah is hunting for a diamond, and the last thing she needs is the infuriating Hart distracting her. But he’s looking for the jewel, too! They may be rivals, but the sparks between them are uncontrollable. And soon Sarah finds herself longing for another treasure—becoming Hart’s countess!
An Unexpected Countess is a romance that will grip you from the get go with it’s sizzling dialogue, fast pace and unexpected plot twists. But be warned, it will leave you howling when it’s over. I wanted to stay in Hart and Sarah’s world and see them through to old age!
An Unexpected Countess is Book #3 in the Secret Lives of the Ton and I read it as a standalone. But I cannot wait to read the other two books in this series. My first Laurie Benson title but it certainly will not be my last. 5/5 stars from me!
Who knew that looking for a diamond could lead to love.
I loved this book from start to finish it made laugh at certain parts and also made me cry. That is a sign for me that Laurie understands her characters and her readers.
In the beginning Hart and Sarah are on top of a very wet rooftop but for entirely different reasons, Hart is leaving Lady Hemlford’s residence, and Sarah is breaking into a vacant house. At this point Hart and Sarah are not aware that they are both looking for The Sancy Diamond.
I loved the twists and turns of the book. I can highly recommend this book a must read.
All three books in “The Secrets of the Ton” series is out now and they can be found at Amazon.

The Review Sister Thought’s
Another great read that I cannot recommend enough
Knowing some of my friends had recommended this book to me, I was delighted to be offered the honour of reading it, I can honestly say that I have not read a huge number of medieval romances but the ones I have read, including this I absolutely adore, I will most definitely be collecting more of Elisabeth’s books this is the first of Elisabeth’s books I’ve read it certainly won’t be the last.
As always I will not give spoilers as its not fair to the author or possible new readers that is what blurbs are for. I can tell you I am most definitely addicted to medieval as well, just haven’t had the chance to read alot of them this I believe is my 5th possibly 6th medieval romance. I will definitely be collecting more especially this lovely author. Elisabeth can write a full roller coaster of emotions beautifully, which can have you weeping one minute with one character, to giggling the next with another, I was able to connect with the story and characters very much so.
Definitely highly recommend this book.
This is the second book that I have read of Elisabeth’s, and she promised me that I would like this book more than the The Saxon’s Outlaw Revenge, for a introduction to Medieval romances it was a bit gory. Well not only do I like this book I love it, and can’t wait to read more.
The characters are wonderful, Lucy is strong well she has to be being a single mother to a little boy, and Roger who has his own troubles but finds he likes being with Lucy and her son. They have their own conflicts with each other, and at the end have there own happy ending.
I will give this book 5/5 stars and I can highly recommend this book. Also Elisabeth you have given me such joy in reading this book.

About Janice Preston
Janice grew up in Wembley, North London, with a love of reading, writing stories and animals. After leaving school at eighteen, she moved to Devon and any thoughts of writing became lost in the hectic rush of life as a farmer’s wife, with two children and many animals to care for. When her children left home for university, she discovered a love of history and of the Regency period in particular and began to write seriously for the first time since her teens.
Real life then got in the way and Janice didn’t write again until 2009. She joined the Romantic Novelists’ Association in 2012 and her first Regency romance was accepted for publication by Harlequin Mills & Boon in late 2013.
Janice now lives in the West Midlands with her second husband and two cats and continues to write Regency romances for Harlequin Mills & Boon.
Cinderella and the Duke; Beauchamp Betrothal’s 1
Falling for a duke in disguise!
Never welcomed into society circles, Rosalind Allen gave up her marriage prospects long ago–life has taught her she’ll only get hurt. So she’s shocked when an encounter with a mysterious stranger makes her long to reconsider…
Little does Rosalind know that her mystery man is Leo Beauchamp, Duke of Cheriton, traveling in disguise to evade the ladies of the ton! Impoverished Rosalind is the first woman to captivate Leo–but can he persuade this wary Cinderella to trust him with her heart?
Read the Review Sisters Thoughts.
Our hero Leo Beauchamp, Duke of Cheriton, is a mature and deliciously moreish hero. I found it really refreshing to have a mature hero; seasoned in the ways of the world but, none the less, just as delicious as a twenty or thirty something hero.
This romance screams that it’s never too late to find true love and that love can be found in the most unusual and unexpected of circumstances.
Rosalind and Leo’s journey to find their happily-ever-after is full of obstacles, but as they face each one, you will be willing them to overcome them. A romance centered around the unconditional love for family and that love can conquer all.
Oh what a beautiful love story!!
Leo is a Duke and Rosalind a spinster who has spent her life looking after her siblings. They meet quite by accident both under false identities and from that very first moment sparks fly between them, but can they learn to overcome their fears and learn to trust each other and trust in their feelings even though both have been terribly hurt in the past. And can they also put aside their different stations in life and come together through their obvious love for each other.
The real hero of the story however is Hector but you will need to read this wonderful book to find out just who or what Hector is!!
A fabulous story that I truly loved every minute of. The author is a very talented storyteller who you know can deliver a magical read every time!
I really like this, even though the title is “Cinderella and the Duke” the fairy-tale isn’t pushed into you face, it is very subtle. You get the Cinderella undertones with a young woman having to do all the chores while the step parent does what he wants, and yes she does meet her own prince charming, but there is just so much more to this.
This isn’t just a sweet and tender Historical Romance about love after loss, there is a real dark undertone to this that makes it intriguing especially when we get into both their individual stories The dark twists in the story do revolve around Lascelle’s who is Leo’s cousin.
This is a sweet story of two people who seem to think that they are both not destined for happiness but in amongst a turbulent time they find a kindred spirit. This is book one in the new Beauchamp Betrothal Series and judging by this one, this is going to be a delicious series and I can’t wait to read more of this especially if it is going to feature Leo’s brother and all round cheeky chappy; Vernon.
This book I one of the first I have read by the lovely Janice Preston and most definitely will not be the last, I utterly adored every aspect of this wonderful story and was completely hooked on every page.
As always I will not give spoilers ever however I will Say this wonderfully written story grabs hold of you in your mind and heart. It is impossible not to feel every emotion that is happening along with each twist and turn until we reach the end which I must admit had me weeping with a huge smile on my face which is always what I need at the end of the books I read, so I can most definitely highly recommend this book to all who love historical romance,
Thank you Lady Janice for writing it.
This is the first book that I have read by Janice and it definitely won’t be the last. I loved this book so much that I didn’t want it to end.
I won’t go into to much detail from here, but lets just say Leo pushes and challenges Ros, especially when Leo and Ros help a little girl named Susie and there is a difference in how Leo and Ros want to bring up Susie, that’s mainly because Ros feels that she is loosing her family and she doesn’t has a purpose and she fights Leo right up until the end.
There is also Leo’s cousin Mr Anthony Lascelles, who is not a very nice man. Leo and his brother Vernon and Richard Lord Stanton are staying at Anthony estate, because Richard is looking for ponies for his wife Felicity. For reasons that become apparent Leo and Anthony don’t get on, and that really shows further on in the book.
As I’ve said before I loved this book and it also made me cry, especially the end when Leo does something for Ros. I’m not telling you what that is you will just have to read the book.
This book is a absolute must read and comes highly recommended.

Feature Post by The Review Sisters – An Introduction to Author Virginia Heath and Her Wild Warriners
When Virginia Heath was a little girl it took her ages to fall asleep, so she made up stories in her head to help pass the time while she was staring at the ceiling. As she got older, the stories became more complicated, sometimes taking weeks to get to the happy ending. Then one day, she decided to embrace the insomnia and start writing them down.
Fortunately, Harlequin Mills and Boon saw some potential in her stories and decided they would publish them. So far, she has been commissioned to write ten books for their Harlequin Historical series. Her first Regency Romance, That Despicable Rogue, was published in May 2016, and since then there are another five somewhere in the publishers pipeline for 2016 and 2017. Her 3rd book, The Discerning Gentleman’s Guide was shortlisted for a RONA (Romantic Novel of the Year Award).
She is currently working on her first series for Harlequin Historical- The Wild Warriners- which will hit the shelves in 2017 and a stand alone Christmas story as well.
She would love to hear from you on either Facebook or Twitter, especially if you love history as much as she does, and promises to try to remember to Blog about something interesting every month.
A former history teacher and enthusiastic tea drinker, Virginia lives near London with her wonderful husband and two teenagers. When she is not making up stories of her own, Virginia likes to travel to far off places, shop for things she doesn’t need and read other peoples’ stories.
Despite all of that, it still takes her forever to fall asleep.

The Review Sisters’s Thoughts
I would have happily stayed in… what’s the opposite of a man cave? Delightful den! Until this tale was over but I’ve carried this book around with me for days and now I’m devastated that it’s over!
Jack Warriner, is the eldest of four brothers protects what is his fiercely and without reservation. His past shaping him into a man I’d take out to dinner anytime.
Jack wanted to “slay Dragons” for Letty. Theoretical Dragons, but Dragons nevertheless! All to protect his damsel in distress, Letty…
Not only have I fallen in love with one brother Jack, I have fallen in love with four, Jack, Jamie, Joe and Jacob, ‘The Wild Warriners.’

This is just fabulous! It is thoroughly enjoyable and I think it is singularly the best book I have read this year. Ms Heath better pull her socks up because this is going to take some beating, I am fairly certain that she I’ll do it. Especially when we get to Jamie’s story, I was warned I would love him and I am very much looking forward to his outing. He reminds me of Gaelen Foley’s; Damien knight. Anyone who knows me will know how high a praise that is.I cannot say enough good thing’s about it.
The story is fast paced and keeps you gripped from that first page, it keeps you teetering on the edge of your seat as you read wondering where earth this is going to take you next. It really does have all the ingredients for a classic a love story with fabulously complicated characters which is all wrapped up with that wonderful Heath wit that we have come to know and love. I can see this being read and loved for years to come. I must warn you though you will never look at a sheep farmer in the same way again ..

‘If you ask me there are not enough feathers in the food. They are wasted in pillows.’
‘Only a fool would develop such a powerful emotion for a man who largely behaved as if she didn’t exist.’
These are my two favourites quotes from the book. If you liked the film Seven Brides For Seven Brothers then you will love this book, but even if you have never seen the film then I highly recommend that you read this book, Virginia you did a wonderful job and a different take on the film I loved it this book from start to finish.

I absolutely loved every minute of it. On the one hand not being able to put it down and on the other not wanting it to end!
The story had me riveted from the very first paragraph. The writing flowed and the characters were very engaging.
I cannot wait to read the next book in the series about these four brothers.
This author has quickly become one of my favourites and I will be purchasing her future novels and also her back catalogue.
Very highly recommended to all lovers of historical romances!!

The Review Sisters’s Thoughts
My Oh My Oh My!!! What a beautiful love story this was. I thought I had fallen in love with Jack Warriner from the first book of the series but I fell just as hard for Jamie Warriner in this second book.
The story was just so enchanting that I really didn’t want it to end, you just knew from the very beginning that Jamie and Cassie absolutely belonged together.
I cannot wait to fall in love with the next Warriner brother in the third book of this series. Highly recommended read, this lady has become one of my favorite authors.

Jamie and Cassie are kindred spirits, souls destined to meet each other in this life or the next. Jamie rescues Cassie only for her to rescue him straight back and they thoroughly deserved their happily-ever-after!
This love story is breath-takingly written. A love story that had me spell-bound from the get-go and continued to weave it’s magic until the final page.
A romance that is devilishly funny but just as emotionally charged as a love scene in the rain. A highly, highly recommended read.

Move over Heathcliffe there is a new gruff, monosyllabic, tormented hero in town in the form of Captain Jamie Warriner. Oh my word! I was warned I would love him and he has more than lived up to the hype, he really is something special. He is a proud man who after serving his country with courage facing down more horrors than any man should face he is back and he is in pain, not just physically but he is trying adjust to civilian life but like a lot of soldiers today poor Jamie is struggling. I was drawn to him the moment I met him in the previous book “A Warriner to protect her” there is just something about this gruff but hugely sensitive man, that draws you in. Yes, he may be as stubborn as an OX – as well as built like one – but he has a good and kind heart, who needs a little love.

‘If he’d had any breath left in his lungs, he probably would have screamed in agony. All that came out instead was a weird hiss.’
‘Jamie thanks to his ancestors and over a decade of growing, he was now an ox of a man. An ox of a man with a useless left leg.’
Two of my favourite quotes! This is book 2 in Virginia’s Warriner Series. Well were do I start I loved it as I knew I would from start to finish, it made me laugh and also made me cry, I love the way Virginia writes she makes you engage with the characters.
